Rules are no substitute for contextual sensitivity and personal judgement

I am quoting this with approval. It is not from a trading-related source:

rules are excellent organizational tools and efficient reducers of cognitive load, but they are no substitute for contextual sensitivity and personal judgement.

BUT – I do wonder of its applicability to trading.
Specifically a firm like Ren Tec. Does such advice apply there? Hmmm.
