Signs of life in housing construction

Just wanted to note these two items that caught my eye:

Clear Indication of Housing Industry Bottom in August 2011

Building permits have exceeded construction completions for six months straight.


(And, in brackets, some dis-confirming thoughts – thoughts, not data, at least – from the same article:

Gain in Architecture Billings Index Highest in 4 Yrs.
Bolding in this quote is mine:

MP: The increase in the August architecture billing index was the largest monthly increase for the index in four years, and forecasts an increase in construction spending by next spring.
