Warning, post is monumentally depressing and comes with a LANGUAGE WARNING

NOBEL PRIZE WINNING economist Peter Diamond has withdrawn his nomination for a seat on the board of the Federal Reserve due to the politicization of the confirmation process. He couldn’t get the support of one side of the US political divide.

The guy is a NOBEL PRIZE WINNER, for his work on the labour market.
Yes, a NOBEL PRIZE!
Yes, his work is on the labour market!
(Sarcasm alert…) But its OK, because the US doesn’t have any labour market problems.

According to one side of the US political divide, there is no place for an intelligent, acknowledged expert in labour markets on the board of its central bank.
The clear message to under-employed and unemployed people in the US:
Hey, F*** YOU!
