Commodity thumping & US Initial Claims

Surprised in all the hubbub the lack of focus on this:

http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2011/03/31/530726/why-the-chinese-copper-financing-scheme-is-a-big-deal/

Note the date of the articles, late March. Accident waiting to happen. Never seemed to garner much interest, and still isn’t. Weird. “Spotting speculative excess” fatigue, maybe? Too much ‘Sky is falling” punditry to know the real issues to focus on?

US Initial Claims. Awful. The figs out of the US have been losing steam recently though, so another straw added (what good are metaphors if ya can’t mix ’em?). Stormy out there.
